About

The Story
When I was in Germany, it started getting frustrating hearing about so many events after they had happened. Our time there was limited and I wanted to experience as much as possible before we left. I haven't been the spouse of a military member for very long, but it's been long enough for me to realize that by the time you've found all the interesting things to do, places to see, and spots to frequent, its time to move again.

What do you mean there are hiking clubs that hike between cities?! Caves and ruines an hour from Graf? Schools where I can learn German? There is a tour that hikes the Zuszpitz? Local crosscountry skiing?! A MUSHROOM FORAGING HIKE!? Why am I hearing about these now!?

By the time I heard about a lot of these, we were already half way through our time in Graf and then covid hit in our last six months there. When we were leaving, there were still things that I was hearing about for the first time and I had already spent so much time on rabbit holes to find out as much as I could. The information was out there but, it was sprinkled about in so many different places it was hard to keep track of. Some events were just difficult to learn about without knowing some German. Now, we're back in the States and my desire to create this site never subsided.

So, here it is.
This website was born out of frustration, created with lots of coffee, and finally launched with great releif. I hope this page helps you make the most of your time in Germany.
The technical
This website is a one-woman show. I am not affiliated with any organization and do not receive funding from anybody to do this. Design is also NOT my thing. If something doesn't sit well with you, please let me know. I hope at least your user-experience on here has been comfortable. 95% of this site was created and is maintained during baby naps, so, please be patient if you've contacted me and are waiting for a response.

Right now, it's just me collecting all the event information from websites and, unfortunately, I do not have access to printed publications or posters that you may find in Graf and Vilseck. So, if you do find those little gems, please submit them on the "Contribute" page above and I'll add what I can. In time, I hope that someone will be interested in inputing and maintaining the information here with me.

If there is a feature you'd like or a bug you've found, I would really appreciate if you could take a moment to let me know. Just follow the "Contact" link above.
